Welcome to the online portfolio of David Rhodes. My specialties are "animator friendly" character rigging, character effects and tool development. I have spent more than two years dabbling in various aspects of the Character TD pipeline. At Raven Software, I was exposed to a full motion capture pipeline, in which I was in charge of creating the rigs and tools required to retarget motion to game characters in a way that was quick, simple, and most importantly, flexible (limitless tweaking - post motion capture process). I have since done character effects work, such as cloth, hair, fur, and other secondary animation (Rhythm and Hues Studios and LucasArts). I finally shipped my first game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, while working at LucasArts. Currently I am enjoying Beautiful Austin, Texas, working for Junction Point Studios/Disney Interactive.

The tools and techniques I have learned while on the job have proven invaluable. I hope to continually expand on those techniques in a production environment that supports creativity and ingenuity.

Outside of work, I love taking pictures and playing video games. Sometime, I'll have to combine the two.
